Work Journal: Swap for Good

The background

It’s no secret that single-use plastic is a big problem. To tackle this problem, individuals, communities and governments all need to take action.

Northern Beaches Council is leading the way when it comes to plastic reduction on a local level, and they recently implemented 2 policies to reduce single-use plastic, the Single Use Plastic Policy and the Waste Minimisation for Functions and Events Approved by Council Policy

The Council’s Waste Education Team developed a single-use plastic reduction program to support local business through their transition. The program, ‘Swap for Good’, includes information, education, resources, supplier lists, events and collaboration opportunities – all with the aim of providing ideas, solutions and alternatives to single-use plastics.

The work

  • Suite of imagery

  • Campaign video

Northern Beaches Council approached us to create the video and a suite of imagery to be used across the Swap for Good campaign collateral.

The shoot took place at four different locations, a bar, the beach, a cafe and a bulk food store. The visuals needed to have a light, bright, lifestyle aesthetic to appeal to the business demographic across Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

We provided the good folks at the Northern Beaches Council with a selection of images and a 45-second campaign video.

The results

The Northern Beaches Council has had over 120 businesses commit to Swap for Good, and they recently received an NSW Excellence Award for the campaign.
